Art Show Invite – Riverdale Art Walk (RAW) 2010
I am very excited to share with you this invite! This is the first time I will be “doing” an Art Fair, and I am both excited and anxious about it… There is so much to prepare – the artwork, framing, a tent, hanging system, prices, permits, and much more! I am planning to write more about this in the next few weeks, but for now I would like to just invite you all to the show.
The Riverdale Art Walk, or RAW for short, is running for the 12th year now. It is one of the major events organized by the Artists’ Network. Better said by the organizers:
“For 12 year, the Riverdale Art Walk has launched Toronto’s outdoor art exhibition season with its two-day juried fine art exhibition along Queen Street East, featuring both emerging and established Canadian artists showcasing original works in painting, photography, drawing, new media, sculpture, and mixed media. This exhibition annually draws over 10,000 people to artist studios, galleries, retail spaces, and Jimmie Simpson Park in the south Riverdale and Riverside neighbourhoods of Toronto.”

Moshe I suggest you subscribe to Sunshine Artist magazine. They have great articles monthly re helping artist to get ready for shows. One thing you might need will be weights to hold down your tent if it is windy or there are thunderstorms.
Another is send out an e-mail to all your previous customers from the area and on your guest book ask for addresses also as some people do not have e-mails.
Re art work, have prices from 10% of the price of your most expensive piece for maybe some prints to the top price.
