I agree, this is a great idea! I am a ketubah artist.

I agree that ketubot for non-Jewish people should be called ketubot. I made one for a woman who had seen many at Jewish weddings. She had it made as a one-year anniversary gift for her husband. I used the text from the Apache wedding ceremony, which is quite moving. Here is a link: http://www.judithjosephstudio.com/alaska_wedding_vows.html

I have also made them for gay couples.

Thank you Naomi, and thanks for joining the group

I had a discussion about it few months ago with several ketubah designers on Twitter, asking what it should be called for non Jewish couples. The conclusion was, it should be called "Ketubah". That's the name for it, and the same way that other Hebrew/Yiddish words are now part of the daily spoken English, so can be "Ketubah" adopted and used by everyone.

Thanks for the suggestions on the sites to expend it to. I will need all the help I can get from people on the group that are already connected....

Cheers

What a wonderful idea!
FYI, many non-Jewish couples today are copying the Ketubah idea and are having original marriage contracts designed and written for themselves to be signed by their closest family and friends at the wedding, displayed during the wedding, read during the ceremony, and showcased in their homes. I have seen this at straight Christian weddings, Gay non-denominational weddings and interfaith weddings of all kinds.
I would suggest you expand the idea to wedding sites like Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks and others.
